Anyone used a slow cooker to cook roast chicken?

I've not been using my slow cooker long and so far have only cooked soups and spag bol in it. I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and try roasting a chicken in it!

Has anyone got any hints/tips how to do just a basic roast chicken - do I just put it in and that's it??

Sorry - but bit nervous of leaving any pink bits!!

I did once and it wasn't roasted - more like poached.
I probably didn't do it right but I wouldn't do it again.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has done it.

no but what i did do last week, was cook some chicken breasts in chicken/veg stock, added some chopped carrots and voila! i just cooked some roast potatoes and brocolli at dinner time and served it up. i quickly dry friend the breasts first in a pan before i put them in the pot.

i also do currys and bbq chicken in mine, but use ready made sauces.

you could always grill it like they did on BB!!

I haven't had much luck with doing chickens in my slow cooker. I found that after cooking, the chicken didn't have much taste and while the meat fell of the bones easily, the bones had often turned to mush and fallen to bits!
So I've given up and do them in the oven now.
