Flapjack DISASTER

rosettesforjill · 10/05/2016 15:01

I've made some marmalade flapjacks and I've either not compressed them enough before they went in the oven, or I haven't cooked them long enough, because they're falling to pieces - they're delicious but really difficult to eat (I may or may not have just crammed one into my mouth whole as it started to slip through my fingers when trying to transfer it into the biscuit tin... Blush)

Is there any way to salvage them or any ideas of what I could use them as instead?

Call them granola and have them for breakfast with some yogurt.

Are they cold enough?
They will harden as they cool down.

They aren't fully cold yet (just above room temperature) - I've transferred them to the fridge in the hope that the butter may harden! Granola is a good idea though Smile

Defibrillators granola. Break it up, back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes worth some nuts and fruit if it's to hand.

Or try a deconstructed crumble.
Bake some apples with orange and lemon zest to go with the marmalade, then cover with flapjack crumbs.
Creme fraiche on top, perfect.

That sounds amazing Chardonnay!
