Don't you mean white whine ?

I dunno - I know Chinese food can cause migraines, something to do with monosodium glutamate?

Maybe you're just geting a little old for exciting nights out and should have a warm bath and a nice mug of Ovaltine before settling down at around 9pm?

funkydiva · 28/05/2004 16:33

don't know about not sleep, but always makes me very thirsty during the night. Obviously whilst partaking of the chinese also drink lots of white wine and like you say this may also have an effect!
Am already looking forward to kids in bed, delicious chinese takeaway from local restaurant and cold wine tonight!!

martha I think you may be right! unusual activity!

Ds2, at 4yo, had one of his worst mega-wobblies ever after we'd eaten at a Chinese. I think it was the MSG that triggered it. We were staying at a small guesthouse and ds almost tantrummed the place down when he woke up next morning. We eventually got down for breakfast, where the owners asked cautiously "Is everything alright?" "Oh, yes, everything's fine." I had to say, with a sickly grin on my face......

I knew msg was potentially a prob. This restaurant is slightly better than your average chinese ( or maybe just more expenxive ) and so I would think there was less msg - we had a fabbo sea bass steamed in soy and ginger...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

katierocket · 28/05/2004 18:59

does have lots of additives in it.
but booze does make me sleep restlessly (which of course means I sleep restlessly a lot

My MIL brought some MSG over when she came to care for me after DS2 was born. I was reluctant at first but she told me it has been studied in Oz and found to be non-harmful and all her family have neen using it for years. It does make veg taste bloody lovely.
Don't know how she got that little pot of white powder through customs though

It is dodgy stuff and commercial Chinese establishments don't seem to able to manage without it.

codswallop · 28/05/2004 19:19

so maybe then?
I wa shtinking about every problem in the world last night

Janh · 28/05/2004 19:21

Definitely! You never know how much you get in the food from a Chinese but I've certainly had some restless nights afterwards!

melsy · 28/05/2004 19:25

I also can not get to sleep after a chinese meal. Also when I havent had wine and chinese so I dont think its the wine. I also stopped having the jasmine tea after as that is another stimulant.

codswallop · 28/05/2004 19:27

lol Melsy!

codswallop · 28/05/2004 19:27
