Recipe for shaped/stamped biscuit

I have some excellent Star Wars space craft cutters from Lakeland that stamp details on to the biscuits, which I want to deploy for DS's birthday next month. With every recipe I've tried so far, the biscuits don't stay in shape and the stamp detail disappears in the oven.

Anyone have a recipe that works for these sort of cutters? And will also preferably freeze so I can get ahead of myself. Or am I missing a simple baking trick?

Alternatively I could just bake round biscuits, and cut/stamp out fondant toppers....

How about this one, OP?

I haven't tried it myself, but it looks like they hold the print pretty well. All-purpose flour is plain flour, and I know you can get rice flour in the gluten free section of supermarkets or in Asian shops.

I'll do a test batch tomorrow, thanks. I love shortbread too!
