i would have to wonder why!?

My sister's FIL used to do this with the brown trout from the stream that ran through his garden. I never actually saw him do it, but he wrapped it in foil & I think my sister said it was the economy wash (no detergent obviously) He could do quite a batch this way, which he then froze.

Just googled this:-

Cooking Salmon in a Dishwasher

Needs:

salmon fillets
aluminum foil
a lemon
a few butter pats
electric dishwasher
Place the fish on two large sheets of aluminum foil. Squeeze on some lemon juice and place the pats of butter on the salmon fillets. Seal the fillets well in the foil, and place the foil packet in the top wire basket of your electric dishwasher. DO NOT ADD SOAP OR DETERGENT. Close the dishwasher door, set the dishwasher on the hottest wash cycle, complete with drying cycle, and let it run through a full cycle. When the cycle is complete the fish will be cooked just right.

Thought this was a wind up!

Bensonbluebird · 11/01/2007 15:14

Yurk! Even if you really sealed the fish up really well there would still be soap residues in the dishwasher - don't fancy it myself

Not intentionally but occassionally find some very well cooked bits of carrot that I obviously forgot to scrape off my plates!

hmm. this sounds to me a bit like Albert Steptoe washing his clothes in the bath while he was having a bath.
