Pizza sauce?

Boring I know ...
So need to make a pizza quick, can't be bothered making a sauce from scratch and have a dolmio stir-in pasta sauce in the cupboard.
Anyone used one before as a pizza topping?

Passage and garlic puree makes an adequate pizza sauce
Much healthier than dolmio

Passata

Tomato puree will also do.
I used to use pasta sauce in UK, prefer tom puree now.
Would have though stir in sauce might be too oily, but it shouldn't be a disaster.

Just had a rummage, found a from of passata AND some purée so might mix them up together.
Prob better!

You can't go wrong. Add a glug of olive oil and some oregano

BlueChampagne · 25/04/2016 15:55

I use pesto

HeyMacWey · 25/04/2016 15:57

Generous glug of extra virgin olive oil, slice three garlic cloves and add to oil and fry off for a few minutes, add passata and cook off for 10 mins or so. If you've got some fresh basil chuck that in, if not maybe dried oregano.

i use red pesto....it's so much easer than arsing about to make pizza sauce. Always have a jar in for pizza.

i'd think passata might be too wet so go canny with it.

YellowSquirrel · 28/04/2016 17:09

I love that saying -go canny!! Must use it more often. Is it a Scottish word 'Canny' I wonder?
But agree pasata is too wet unless reduced on hob 1st.
