basic tom sauce for pasta recipe please!

My fave is to chuck a couple of punnets of cherry toms into a roasting dish with a dash of olive oil, salt and pepper, garlic, chilli flakes if you like. Roast on a low heat until skin is slightly charred, whizz in a blender.

don't the skins get all bitty though? I'd have thought you'd have to skin cherry tomatoes first .. no?

I normally use a hand blender, can't say I've noticed it being excessively bitty but it is very thick. I suppose you could seive it if you wanted to but I quite like the texture of it. Life's too short to skin a cherry tomato as I always say!
