Best tried and tested dinner party type recipe

I usually do Delias Lasagne. It's so bloody good and has the benefit of being able to do in advance.

But I can't cook it again for guest who have had it quite a few times before.

Does anyone have any good tried and tested absolutely delicious recipe suggestions?

Delias chicken basque is great

Nigel's Salmon en croute is delicious as is the BBC good food lamb with orzo or Ottelenghis shawarma.
