So I kind of messed up at Christmas and have 2kg (ha ha!) of currants left from making mincemeat, christmas cake, Christmas pudding. I really want to get them used up, and am just making endless currant biscuits/cookies and fruit loaf. Any ideas- sweet, savoury all welcomed!

There is a nice Ottolenghi receipe that is supposed to use barberries but you can use currents instead, which I do and it works. Just combine basmati rice cooked with saffron, handfulls of dill, tarragon and chervil, chopped pistachios and the lemon soaked currants. It is nice alone or as a side for chicken, turkey etc.
