Best scone recipe

It's my bosses birthday this week and I'd really like to bake some scones to take in for a cream tea instead of the bog standard cake.

Tried making the be ro scones once before and they were rather small and flat.

Has anyone got the best recipe for plain or fruit scones. How can I make them turn out huge?

The secret is not to roll them too flat, and fold the dough in half before rolling so there's a natural join half way up

I never used to be successful with scones but I now use the paul Hollywood recipe using bread flour and lots of baking powder and they always come out really nice

If it doesn't come up on google let me know and I'll dig the quantities out

Don't overwork the dough, as soon as ingredients are mixed then roll out gently as above

Just SR flour and no baking powder, as the extra bicarb tastes bitter. Keep the dough handled as little as possible and give them a gentle squeeze around the waist to make them grow!

I've found the Paul Hollywood one. Thanks. Looks like it's a trip to the supermarket for strong white flour!
