Butchers' shop sausages shelf life

I bought some sausages in a highly recommended, very busy, local butchers on Tuesday. How long would you think they'd keep for without freezing? I've got some (good brand ones) from the supermarket and they have over a week's shelf life. Is this normal for sausages? Will I poison people if I cook the butchers' ones on Saturday morning?!? Thank you for your help.
