Join the club! I find it such a struggle trying to feed the children something reasonably healthy each day when I HATE cooking, that I simply can't be bothered to prepare anything decent for myself! I suppose if you want to be lively, you need SUPERFOODS!, ie avocado, tomato, nuts etc, but most mums just put their own interests at the bottom of the list don't we?

One tip I heard was eat sweet potatoes instead of ordinary ones, and eat things like parsnip and swede mash instead of potato mash.

Yes, that sounds good. I love all those things. However, when I buy them, I put them in the cupboard and forget all about them and when they're really mouldy, throw them away!!

Melon. Pineapple. Strawberries. All fresh. They are superfruits, they brun fat & produce energy twice as fast as any other fruit. [So I hear!]

Concentrating on getting at least 5 portions of veg, 8 glasses of water etc is a good start. I did a tick sheet for a while with boxes for each portion so I could see how my intake all added up.

Something along these lines, sort of

pianist - that's my problem too. I need to work out a weekly menu so that I am motivated to do the fresh stuff early in the week and then have stuff that doesn't go off so quickly later in the week.

Pasta is my biggest downfall, I think. Just seems to come up every meal!

Go with the pasta but reduce the amount and bring in more veg with it like roast peppers, slad, grilled tomatoes etc.
