I've been making chicken and veg broth for YEARS but this has never happened... Today I boiled chicken drumsticks then added dried soup mix, an extra sprinkle of barley, a pack of pre chopped veg (slovenly, I know) and then an extra chopped leek and carrot. I've returned to my simmering pot to discover everything is dyed orange??! The stock is orangey, as is the barley and outside of the chicken. It seems to taste ok, but wtf has happened? I must admit that I really don't want to eat it
