If you're cooking the ham from scratch and roasting it you could pop a few root veg under the meat before cooking. Carrots and parsnips might be nice.

So maybe some steamed carrots or green beans or leeks and a potato? Sounds delish!
I think I've made the fabled mumsnet chicken only with ham 😄. We had it with mac and cheese tonight and I used the cooking water to make a lunch time broth with.
