Help I have set tonight aside to ice my cake but have no apricot jam - would honey work do you think?? It's too foggy and icy to get the car out just for that. Any ideas ladies?? Thanks in advance!

marmalade ?

lemon curd ?

any sort of jam will do , my mum usually uses strawberry but got muddled with the jars and used black cherry jam one year.

Honey worked for me, just used plenty and warmed it in the microwave like you do the jam. But like knittingtinsel says any jam would do - it's the pectin that makes the marzipan stick isn't it?

Good idea but I only have Rose's lime flavour ... might have to resort to doing it tomorrow inbetween work christmas lunch and village carol concert!!

Lime flavour would be OK! Any kind of jam or marmalade would do.

Just saw other replies - might give the honey a whirl. I did think about raspberry but it's the seedy kind. I am not feeling confident about this cake anyway - took a peek and it's not looking anywhere near as fruity and dark as I would like. Sigh. Is there time to make another??!
