Mead....

So...I had a medieval party pre Christmas, all jolly good fun but someone bought mead...very kind etc etc but...it's not nice, not right and frankly nasty. Any ideas of how to use it up other than drinking straight. We have a bottle and a half...alternatively if you actually like mead you are welcome round our gaffe and I shall have a glass of prosseco....

What exactly is mead? Could you not make a cocktail with it to make it taste nicer

Mead is Honey wine. My father used to make it. It is very sweet and should probably be drunk as a dessert wine.

T-- sweet for me to drink straight...I was hoping to find some recipes to deal with it. I did find one somewhere for lamb chops and mead...cocktail sounds good though. My son works in bar partying and prides himself on his cocktails (makes a great mojhito!) so I should get him on the case maybe.

Assuming it's a wine mead not an ale mead, I would stew fruit with it.
