Chocolate strawberry cake

My daughter wants a chocolate and strawberry flavoured birthday cake that looks like a flower, so not chocolate covered. I was thinking about doing a chocolate sponge and covering it with strawberry flavoured buttercream so it is pink. Couldn't find any examples of this with a quick google search. Has anyone done this, do you think it would be nice?
