what do you feel like eating by ny eve?

okay, gliding smoothly past christmas...we have about 10 people for dinner on ny eve. i keep planning roasts but feel everyone will want something different by then. would you want:

a)curry
b)roast
c)italian
d)lots of canapes?

Something VERY non-traditional!

Personally I'm ready for something like a steaming bowl of Singapore noodles and spicy Chinese vegetables by then!

I would choose Italian on your list, but we tend to have Tapas. It makes such a nice change from christmas food and everyone always loves it.

I like the idea of tapas - what kind of things do you make?

Well when I say we, what I actually mean is dh, so HE makes potato bravas, meatballs, chicken drumsticks, mozarella and beef tomatoes, baked aubergine with tomato and cheese on, a big paella, some nice bread, spanish omlette, that kind of thing. Most of it is quite easy and can be done in advance as well.

We tend to be on chinese by nye

oh i'd do chinese if I knew how to. And the tapas sound lovely but time consuming to make. But, as dh is working in the day, and we have lots of vegetarians in the group, I think I'll go with spicy curry then!

Got a loooooooooooovely recipe for sweet n sour pork... I destroy the kitchen in the process but it tastes great

I'd want chinese or a roast, I get so fed up with picking at food over christmas that I usually long for a decent hearty meal by New year.

Curry - I'm usually yearning for spiciness by Boxing day and desperate for it by NYE.
