I bought soem duck fat thinking this will be fab for xmas day but when I got home I remembered that it was goose fat I was supposed to get. I assume cos it's an animal fat it will be good but has anybody ever used it for roast potatoes?

On the other hand we've still got goose fat from last year's goose in the fridge - does anyone know if it lasts a year?

No idea on comparative merits, but goose fat does last a year (leastways it did in my fridge -- maybe longer than that, actually. Still tasted fab and no one died)
