something smells quite wrong...

I slung together a chilli for the slow cooker this morning and now the house smells of pork.

I've clearly used pork mince instead of beef by accident Hmm

Will it still taste okay or do I sling it?

Or can I add something in there to make it into some sort of Spanish pork surprise??

I'm sure it will be fine. I often use pork mince instead of beef. It is a little sweeter or something, but that would work well in a chilli. Hope you enjoy it!

Will be fine. I think Jamie Oliver recommends using half pork half beef in chilli so not too crazy a notion to have used all pork!

AdoraBell · 07/01/2016 18:08

Does it taste okay as is? If so just serve it and don't tell anyone it was meant to be chile. If not add some Chinese style spices and call it Chinese pork.

Flingingmelon · 07/01/2016 18:17

It tastes okay but cos I've been looking forward to beef chilli I'm a bit disappointed.

Chinese pork sounds quite good actually. With kidney beans too (they're already in there.)

I use turkey mince in my chilli. Try the pork though it might be your new favourite.

Would you really throw away food because someone on the internet told you to, rather than taste it for yourself?

Flingingmelon · 08/01/2016 20:10

I'd throw it out if it tasted crap and the collective women of mumsnet had no suggestions for saving it.

Any other helpful questions? Biscuit
