Prawns

Ok, just a quick question about prawns. I had lunch of pad thai at wagamamas today. The prawns in it were pale grey and slightly translucent. Am I correct in thinking these weren't cooked? I sent them back but the next lot were the same. They tried to reassure me they were properly cooked and offered something else but everyone else was eating so I just said I would leave the prawns and they took it off the bill. To my mind, prawns go pinkish and opaque when cooked. Am I wrong?

No your right. I've had the pad Thai in wagamama and prawns have been pink and firm. I too would send grey translucent back as uncooked.

Thanks. When the second lot came back the same I began to question myself (not enough to want to eat them though).
