It's ok to eat right? It's a tagine, left overs for the DC.

Also I have fresh fish cakes from m&s use by yesterday, would you eat that? Normally I would but it's for the kids...

Eyes and nose, if it looks ok and smells ok I'd use it/them.

However if in doubt chuck it out, which in this house is extremely rare & we're still here...just Wink

Not the chicken but maybe the fish if it passed the smell test.
I'm often unsure too but err on the side of caution.
I've thrown away chicken within its use by date because I thought it smelled funny .

SakuraSakura · 26/11/2015 11:15

I wouldn't eat the chicken. Would eat the fish cakes if they smelt fine.

borntobequiet · 26/11/2015 11:19

Both the chicken and the fish cakes should be fine. If properly cooked and refrigerated most leftovers are perfectly OK for a week, even rice dishes.

ohtheholidays · 26/11/2015 11:23

Chicken no,3 days in a fridge is what they recommend then after that chuck it.

The fish cakes should be fine if they've been kept in the fridge.

Etak15 · 26/11/2015 11:23

They'll be fine.

DramaAlpaca · 26/11/2015 11:25

I'd eat the fish cakes without a second thought.

The chicken would be fed to the dog. Our house rule for chicken is if it's cooked on Sunday, eat by Wednesday.

misscph1973 · 26/11/2015 11:27

Its' all fine, just make sure you reheat properly. I eat a lot of leftovers, as I batch cook a lot, and most things will last a week.

ilovetosleep · 26/11/2015 11:39

I just checked on the food.gov site and they say 3-4 days for left over chicken... Trouble is it will just smell of spices not chicken. Think I won't risk it on smallest dc as gems poorly anyway!
