Cherry Brandy in Christmas Cake?

I am intrigued by a recipe I came across - has anyone cooked a cake with this ingredient? The recipe is a fruit cake with 125ml of cherry brandy so not a spoonful. What might this taste like - any idea?

Oh watching with interest.

I always double to amount of cherries in my Christmas cake mix as I think they are the best bit but cherry brandy too would be awesome.

and then it would give me and excuse to make Black Forest trifle for my parents at Christmas as it's the only type I like

I put cherry brandy in all sorts of things and it is always delicious, you should go for it!

MargaretHale - what do you think it adds? Fruitiness or sweetness?
