query about feeding my Christmas cakes

I made a couple of small Christmas cakes a few weeks ago and I soaked the fruit in rum before baking. I've since fed them with some more rum, however I've also got some brandy in the cupboard and I thought I might feed them with that next. So my question is; will mixing the two spirits make the cakes extra delicious or make them taste awful? Should I just stick to the rum?

Last year I ended up running of brandy and then used sherry. Tastes lovely :)

I'm sure it will be fine

Alcohol in copious amounts, whatever its provenance, has never hurt a Christmas cake. Mix away. I am feeding mine brandy currently, much like a stray cat. I have done what you've done though previously, and had no complaints. I think it ferments/matures and tastes lovely regardless. All that butter and sugar, how could it not!
