I'm such a (fruit) fool

After living in the UK for nearly 10 years now, I have finally discovered fruit fools. Thank you very much to everybody for letting me believe fruit fools were some kind of compote, with an unattractive name to boot!

It's fruit mousse, and it's gorgeous! Dh just shrugged and mumbled, well, I thought you knew. 10 wasted years!!!

Fruit fools use compote so it might be why you got confused? Homemade ones are fruit compote with custard and cream mixed in, the premade pots are more moussey - but still delicious and so underrated!

I want a fool now, love them, particularly rhubarb.
