Roast chicken in slow cooker

I have a chicken which has been in the slow cooker since 12:30 on low, and it's still not quite ready. The recipe said 4-6 hours and it's over that. Is this normal!? Also the skin is kind of soft and I like it crispy, am I going to need to grill it? Confused

I think if it is on low it is never going to get crisp. I do ours on high and it does crisp up; just bung yours under the grill for a few mins

I did this yesterday, it was lovely. I had it on low all day and popped it in oven to crisp up.
