Labels for jam jars

Can anyone recommend labels for homemade jam that can be removed from the jar once empty without leaving a horrid sticky mess. I've just spent a fortune on new glass jars and would like to reuse several times. I'm using the Lakeland labels which peel well off plastic as long as they are dry, but not from glass. Sadly, other jam jar labels I've tried are the same.

I use standard printer labels (Avery, bought from Staples or Office World). They soak off very easily if left in the sink for 15 minutes when doing the washing up. If anything gets stuck (usually when peeling labels off commercially made jam or honey) I use Lakeland's "Sticky Stuff Remover" which is excellent.

Thanks 4merly, will try both of those - I love the shape of Rowse honey jars but can never get the labels off those properly either.
