Can I make gravy any other way?
I have oxo cubs and knorr beef stock pots

Any help appreciated just about to dish up Sad

Use a stock pot some hot water and a little flour to thicken it

Simmer for a few minutes to cook the flour

If you've got cornflour you can use oxo cubes and stock pots and boiling water in a saucepan then add some cornflour and water.

I never use Bisto (but then we don't often have gravy - mainly just with roasts).
Have you got any meat juices/fats you could use as a basis? Add some flour and cook with the fat before adding stock.
Alternatively used red wine and reduce it down as as basis for gravy.

Corn flour works well if you have it. Mix with a little cold water then add to stock (made with oxo cube or stock pot) then simmer to allow it to thicken.

Oh it was a total failure. Added the oxo cub it tasted so salty I hated it. (Dont have salt on my food) think I added too much. DH has gone to the shop.

Thank you all. I will have to try again when Im under less pressure.
