I don't think we've had a thread for a while. Spent an hour and a half on hold today at work so made use of the time!

Saturday and Sunday: left overs
Monday: chickpea ragout and pasta
Tuesday: pea and pesto soup
Weds: pearl barley risotto with mushrooms and peas
Thursday: Malaysian tofu curry
Friday: home made spicy mixed bean "sausage" rolls, I'm telling myself I'll have salad with these but it may end up chips and beans!

I love Gado Gado!

Do you have a recipe?

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/10/2015 17:22

No, I don't sorry.
I started off using Rick Stein's from Far Eastern Oddysey, and still vaguely follow it but adapt to suit at the time.
If you can't get his online, then the Rasa Malaysia website is good.

Iloveonionchutney · 16/10/2015 17:29

Lastqueen do you have a recipe for your spicy bean rolls please?

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/10/2015 17:32

I'm interested in them too.

Sugarandsalt · 16/10/2015 18:14

Tuesday: salmon topped with cream cheese/breadcrumbs, roast veg
Wednesday: sweet potato and lentil curry
Thursday/Friday: sausage/chorizo/bean casserole

lastqueenofscotland · 16/10/2015 19:29

It's the one on the tinnedtomatos blog. Not tried it before but thought it looked like a slighter healthier Friday night dinner! (I usually fall into the pub trap like tonight or have chips)

I wasn't feeling particularly inspired this week, but this is what we are having:

Saturday - sort of Pad Thai noodles - minus peanuts which DS can't eat and bean sprouts which are revolting;)
Sunday - chicken casserole. I'm thinking of Mediterranean style with olives etc
Monday - leftovers from Sunday
Tuesday - pork & apple sliders
Wednesday - carrot & cumin soup
Thursday - sausages with salad
Friday - pizzas

lastqueenofscotland · 23/10/2015 17:11

Anyone else done theirs today?

Tonight - good supper replaced with chips as going to the pub.
Tomorrow - gnocci arrabiatta bake with salad and garlic bread
Sunday - spicy bean sausage rolls we were meant to have tonight.
Monday - courgette and tomato gratin
Tuesday - veg and garlic fried rice
Wednesday - paneer tikka masala
Thursday - aspargus and basil tart
Friday - potato and leek latkes

lastqueen do you have a recipe for chickpea ragout?

I'm trying to menu plan but we're both working stupid hours for the next three weeks and I've lost my usual enthusiasm for menu planning. So far this week:

Sunday: going to friends for dinner
Monday: I'm out for dinner so prob pizza for everyone else
Tuesday: bean spag bog out the freezer
Weds: risotto, prob pumpkin and white bean
Thurs: pasta/pesto/quinoa
Fri: DS cooking

IHaveBrilloHair · 25/10/2015 15:11

I've changed mine about 500 times this week, and probably will again, but atm.
Sun-chorizo, chickpea and kale soup
Mon- roast chicken dinner
Tue-fishfingers, chips and sketti
Wed-parma ham wrapped cod, polenta and salad
Thurs-Veggie pie
Fri-Chinese chicken and mushroom curry
Sat-Something from DD'S TWD cookbook for Halloween
Sun-Black bean chilli

lastqueenofscotland · 25/10/2015 16:36

Chickpea ragout is a made up one of mine!

Garlic and red onion fried, then tomato paste, chickpeas, deglaze pan with a gulg of red wine, add pasata, random herbs (usually oregano and thyme) and leave to reduce while you cook pasta. Stir it all in and shove in face!

I love it. Really filling and lovely on a cold evening.

I'll have to try that, it definitely sounds like a comforting, on the couch with a fleece, kind of meal which is needed right now.

whois · 25/10/2015 18:19

Wish I had a kitten!

Tonight - Korean bibimbap (brown rice with loads of 'toppings' - am doing pickled cucumbers, grated carrot, edamame beans, roasted sweet potato, shredded lettuce, and a sesame chilli soy sauce aubergine and kidney bean fry thing with a Korean chill soy ginger sauce over the top and sesame seeds and spring onions) Sounds like a lot of work but it's mainly just chopping raw veg which i have mainly done.

Monday - quinoa with caugette, preserved lemons and nuts out of Persiana. Probably fry some of the Taifun olive tofu to go with it.

Tuesday - Monday leftovers hopefully.

Wednesday - out

Thursday - friends over - thinking the chicken fennel lemon tagine out of Persiana (can you tell which book I was flicking though over breakfast!). For pudding an avocado chocolate orange cardamom pudding thing which is nicer than it sounds! Or maybe do a veggie main so DP can eat it too. Haven't 100% decided.

Friday lunch - Thursday leftovers

Weekend - away

trinitybleu · 25/10/2015 18:24

colly could I have your beef and mushrooms slow cooker recipe please? I can't seem to get mine to taste of anything ...

We're on:
Sun - quorn escolapes, mash, veg, gravy
Mon - SW lamb passanda (slow cooker) if OH remembers to buy yogurt with no honey (Asda sub and he hadn't realised)
Tues - sausages, wedges, veg (got a double pack of Richmond's in our order that I hadn't asked for)
Weds - fish pie with sweet potato mash
Thurs - burgers, wedges, salad (I work 40 miles away on Tues and Thurs)
Fri - disco at school so probably just scarf a few cheap hot dogs Smile
Sat - out
Sun - quorn meatballs and spaghetti

Quite a sausagey week really which is unusual!
