How long do those big tubs of yoghurt last for?

it says 3 days on the side, but that's got to be over-cautious, surely? any microbiologists about?

If your dd is under one year I would be cautious, else I think it would be fine. However, I'm no expert!

I use my Yeovalley ones for ds (12 months) up to 5 days. After that I either makke some yogurt pancakes with it or chuck it.

no one been ill from it yet...
A few days is fine

You know when you have left it too long it tastes off.
A few more days than 3 I think but they don't usually last that long in this house

until it starts to grow new lifeforms?

Oh God at least a week.

Sorry for the delay!

Yogurt Pancakes:

1 egg (lightly beaten)
150ml natural yogurt
150ml milk
150g self-raising flour
a quarter tsp salt or 2 tbsp maple syrup
I do golden syrup too. Ds only eats the sweeter version.

Makes about 8 pancakes

In a bowl beat egg with a fork and add the yogurt, stir in milk, flour and salt or syrup and mix till smooth.
Heat a little oil in frying pan and drop heaped tbsp full of batter in pan (leave enough space around each one) they spread to about 6cm diameter. Cook till ligh brown and set in middle, about 1-2 minutes a side)

Serve with more syrup or fruit!

You can freeze these and pop them in a toaster when needed, but they taste "old" and ds usually don't want them then!

What happened to hazlenut yoghurt? I used to be able to get through a whole large tub og that in one sitting.haven't seen any in the shops for years...
