McVitie's cafe noir - back with a new recipe but best avoided

Back in the supermarkets (well, Sainsbury's and Waitrose) so tried a packet.

Sadly, McVities have wrecked them. Silly little biscuits, unlike the originals, more fit for dolly's tea party than an adult table, completely different recipe, and - worst of all - half the thickness of the important sugar/coffee glaze.

These are a pale imitation of the originals - they're fakes! Shan't be buying any more unless they bring the proper ones back.

It's almost as if they're bringing them back with the deliberate intention of having them fail. Nestle and Cadbury have cheapened all their chocolate to the extent that it's not worth eating any more, but to do this to Cafe Noir biscuits is heresy!

BYOSnowman · 08/10/2015 22:26

Nooooooo! I have been looking for these for ages and now you tell me they're ruined!!

I'll never forgive you nestle (or Kraft - can't stand all these weirdy things they're doing with cadburys)

Dbsdbb4559 · 12/05/2019 09:47

Can anyone tell me the name of the original biscuit please

Blondie1984 · 12/05/2019 18:40

Sounds like part of the government sugar reduction plan...

P.S Kraft don’t own Cadbury anymore - it’s Mondelez

Blondie1984 · 12/05/2019 18:41

Oh god what if they start on the Hobnobs or Jaffa Cakes?

Deathraystare · 31/05/2019 09:17

Sadly, McVities have wrecked them

Damn them to hell! A pox on them!

Aldi "hobnobs" are actually just as nice as proper Hobnobs Smile
