Lakeland are selling a slow cooker for 1/2 price, £15 not £30.
What good slow cooker recipes do you use time and time again? Thanks.

roast meat - just stick it in and switch on.

Chicken pieces, tin of condensed mushroom soup, carton of creme fresh - I put this in my small slow cooker, you might need to double it.

Also great for steaming puddings.

Get a pyrex or ceramic dish that will fit inside (actually you could use plastic if it's heat resistant)
steak and kidney or chopped steak and chopped mushrooms
flour
stock cube
boiling water
seasoning of choice

pour boiling water in to the slow cooker - about 2in deep.

grease the dish

make suet pastry, reserve 1/3 for the lid, roll out pastry and line the dish.

roll the meat in seasoned flour and pack in to the pudding add the mushrooms if using.

crumble a stock cube over.

roll out the lid and fit over the pudding

make a hole in the centre with your thumb or a knife

put the pudding in the slow cooker then pour boiling water in to the hole until it spills out

leave for 4-8 hours

Pork shanks in cheap cider are good too

Once you start using it you'll wonder why you never bought one before. It'll be the best £15 you'll spend. I have several recipes on my blog. (scroll down to slow cooker section) soosie.wales/recipes/

I did Ramsay's Beef Bourginon (sp?) in mine on Saturday - magnificent.
Also good - french onion soup (but a faff - have to check every hour), thai green curry, whole gammon, whole chicken, kitchen sink stew....
