Need to provide veggie nibbles (savoury and sweet) to accompany wine and natter (book club!). Any recommendations/suggestions please?

TIA Smile

These fig & goats cheese crostini are really tasty and easy to make :)

Thanks - particularly liking the look of the Indian scones! Don't really want to do anything hot as not good with last minute cooking!

Does anybody make their own dips?

And any sweet ideas out there too please?

Dips are really easy to make yourself.

Dd's favourite I make is sour cream, garlic salt parsley and basil.

Beetroot and coriander is nice and easy.
Home made houmous takes mins.
Cream cheese, garlic, parsley, basil and oregano
Cream cheese with spices can be nice.
Home made salsa - cheat with tinned toms or Blanche and peel your own. Add chilli peppers, coriander, black pepper, garlic, sea salt, parsley and lemon juice.

Regarding hard cheeses remember not all are veggie and some people can even be allergic to rennet.

Cheese straws glazed with Marmite are lush.

You could even go 'kitsch retro' with vol au vents filled with veggie pâté, egg Mayo, mushroom and cream cheese etc.

Have fun

Mix up some salt, pepper, Tabasco in decent vodka. Crisscross the bottom of a lot of cherry or baby plum tomatoes, stick in Tupperware box bottoms up, pour over vodka mix and keep toms soaked in it for a few days. Drain and serve chilled with a dish of rock salt

Bloody Mary tomatoes!
