OK, I'm not a great baker, I love GBBO but never had the confidence with baking really. I'm going to a Macmillan coffee morning being held by a group I'm part of, and decided I'd bake a cake.
Decided on a simplified version of a rainbow cake - 4 layers, jam in between, fondant over the top to hide the carnage
It looks OK! One cake stuck because I didn't grease the pan enough, but it was salvageable. Also the colours on the outside aren't that bright (only had access to liquid food colouring) so I'm hoping the inside will be nice, bright colours, even if it's pastel shades!
