What kind of breads (apart from banana) can I make for the DC's breakfast?

Anyone got any good ideas? I've decided that the easiest breakfasts are when I make banana bread/cake. Easy to serve, easy and quick to eat and I can make them a hot chocolate if there's time. My kids are quite fussy i.e. no raisins for one, no fruit chunks for the other.

Also, I don't have a bread maker but have successfully made some bread as (well as the banana bread) from A Girl Called Jack.

Can you make a regular loaf and just do toast?

SoupDragon · 18/09/2015 20:41

Cinnamon and raisin. It makes wonderful toast.

Or just cinnamon given the "no raisins" bit... :) you might need something like honey in to to replace the sweetness of the raisins.

You can make a nice one with Allbran and dried fruit or one just with dried fruit - you could also do breakfast muffins

This potato bread is excellent and a complete meal. There are variations with other veg like parsnips too.

I was just going to say Irish soda bread jelly...with sultanas maybe.

Goggle Nigella's "lazy loaf" from her Express book. I haven't made it yet but it's a super easy recipe and looks delicious. It's uses muesli and bread flour so you could pick a muesli with "bits" they both like.

Coconut and pineapple. Use liquidised pineapple, or just a pineapple/coconut smoothie.

Would they eat something like this?

I've made it a few times and it's quick and really nice. You could do a more 'child friendly' one with the caugette and cubed normal cheese and ham maybe?

Thanks for the ideas.
I like the look of the last bread - won't do them any harm to have a savoury breakfast! I wanted to avoid toasting/putting jam etc on as it is so much quicker.
