Green tomatoes!

So I chopped up most of the ingredients for green tomato chutney and put them in a pan before remembering that I decluttered all my empty jam jars! Confused Is there anything else I can do with a pan of green tomatoes, apple and onion? Or can I put the chutney in something else? Any thoughts?? Thanks!

Apparently it's fine to freeze chutney so you could do this with at least some of it.

You can make it today and leave it overnight covered. Next morning buy some jam jars or Kilner jars wash and sterilize them including the lids and seals. Boil the chutney up again and then pot it.

Can you make an appeal on your Facebook page for jam jars?

I've posted this 'top tip' so many times on here, but if you need jam jars and have none spare and free, the cheapest/quickest way is to buy a load of value jarred products. Last time I looked, the tesco/ asda value lemon curd at 22p was the cheapest for a 1lb ish jar size. Cheaper than buying new jars.

Thanks! I got a kilner jar from the garden centre in the end yesterday. If I'd been less pushed for time I probably would have gone to look for value marmelade or similar.
