Anyone use a pressure cooker?

I know that I should be tarred, feathered and permanently excluded from MN, but I just don't get on with my slow cooker Shock.

So, I'm thinking of getting a pressure cooker instead. Does anyone have one, do you use it and what do you cook?

Oh gosh yes, the steamed puddings!

WRT liquids, yes you need to use less as nothing evaporates off during cooking. It can be a bit trial and error, depending on the liquid content of what you are cooking but start with half the usual volume.

Must confess that I had one of the scary ones in my 20s (20 years ago) as I didn't really cook meat until I met DH.

I used it every day then and use it most days when DH isn't at home.

I wouldn't want to go back to one of those tbh! My mother thought I was crazy to spend invest in a KR one but it is probably the most used item in my kitchen, that and two other pans.

Actually this thread has made me realise that I don't need most of the things cluttering up the kitchen/pantries.

We eat a lot of pulses (am Spanish, so what would you expect)Grin
If I had to cook chick peas for hours on end.....does not bear thinking.
Shin beef just falls off the bone. Chicken, same thing
Flavour is better as all the lovely juices are concentrated.

I do silly things with mine, like hard boiled eggs (steamed) not because it takes less time as it doesn't but because they are so easy to peel Blush
