URGENT - how can I tell when beef meatballs are cooked

I've got some beef meatballs cooking in a tomato sauce and I don't know how to tell when they're cooked. I don't eat red meat so please someone help me quickly as they're on the stove right now!!!

How long have they been cooking for? If in doubt, cut one in half and see if its brown all the way through

About 35mins now, I'll go cut one open, thanks very much

pudding, if they're about golf ball size and simmering in tomato sauce they should only take 15 mins max . Hope they were nice!
