Buddha bowl or just a salad?

I'm vegan, I eat a big salad bowl nearly every day, I love to experiment with different vegetables, grains and dressings. However Buddha bowls have entirely escaped my radar! So tell me are these the same as Buddha bowls? Or just plain salads as I'm a bit confused. These are two from this week :)

We used to go to a Chinese restaurant where a Buddha bowl was a deep fried potato/noodle bowl filled with food.

So are they hot like a stew or casserole? Any I've seen online look like salads, but that could be seasonal or weight loss ones! I'm intrigued now :)

I can't work out what they are either.
Do they need to be healthy and vegan, or are they just a multi dished meal in a bowl Confused

I think it's a bit of a loose concept that's got a bit fashionable!

To me, it's a wholesome load of veg -can be raw, or cooked, or a mix probably with a carb and some veggie protein, in a bowl. Perhaps with some sauce. All in a bowl. Probably not meat or fish but I guess it could be. Kale probably features.

I've heard the definition before that it contains the following: a grain, a green, a protein, vegetables and sauce. So for example quinoa, kale, tofu, carrots and a tahini sauce. Smile

Does 'a green' not count as a vegetable, then? Or does it mean two portions of vegetable, one to be green? thick

I think it's because leafy greens like kale, spinach and broccoli are some of the most nutritious things we can eat and everyone should have them daily.
