Chocolate Caramel Cake - Recipes?

My dd, who will be 8, has asked for a chocolate caramel cake for her birthday - not salted caramel. I wasn't thinking of making the caramel. Any recipes you would recommend? Thanks.

Could you make a regular choc sponge with a caramel buttercream?

I bought Lotus Biscoff Spread yesterday and I thought I'd spread this on a chocolate sponge. Has anyone ever done this?

I've never used biscoff (the thought of it makes me feel queasy for some reason but others tell me it is really nice) but I have used Nutella as a quick filling for cakes so I can't see why it wouldn't work. I usually use a tin of condensed milk caramel. It is seriously delicious.

How about this one? I bookmarked it ages ago, but haven't quite got round to making it yet. I guess you could leave the coffee out?

The choca mocha caramel cake is brilliant, especially the icing. It's my go to chocolate cake.

I can't get the mocca cake to work. It stays seriously soggy in the middle.

In my old oven I had to bake it longer than 45minutes, the timings were a bit optimistic for my clunky old oven.

Yeah, I did it for about 90 mins and it was still raw. And burnt on the top even with paper on the top!
