Gluten/dairy/nut free treat without "odd" ingredients?

I'm having a birthday party for DS next week and I usually make something for the grown-ups to eat too - scones or cake or something. One mum is gluten/dairy/nut free - she never expects anything to eat and always brings her own snacks to places but I'd love to make her something she can have. I've looked up some recipes but they all involved specialised ingredients, which I'd rather not spend lots on just for the sake of one recipe. Any tried and tested ideas?

I have a DH who is the same. It can be VERY hard to bake anything nice as without the addition of choc or nuts, anything cake-like is quite honestly very dismal to eat.

DH is always very pleased if there's a lovely fruit salad he can eat and something like a 3 bean salad with a nice dressing.

OhSheGlows is a great website with loads of recipes.

Rocky road with d/f choc? Lots of dark choc is d/f, no need to buy specialist stuff. Add g/f biscuits broken up, marshmallows, raisins.

You sound like a lovely friend.
