No self raising flour

Want to make mini loaf cakes (like muffins). It says to use 225g of SR flour and 1 tsp baking powder. Can I use plain and add some bicarb or something? Can't get to shop.

You can't buy self raising flour where I live - I add a teaspoon of baking powder per 500g of flour, so I'duse plain flour and 1.5-2 tsp. baking powder.

So no bicarb then?

Baking powder is a combination of bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar, so you can either add those to plain flour (you'd have to google for the proportions though, I can't remember!) or 1tsp baking powder per 500g as the pp said.
