Having some close friends round for a drink or 2 to celebrate our house renovation being finished! Long job, never again.
Anyway, we have decided not to have a sit down meal as such, but I ant to offer nibbles, picky food etc. Any suggestions?
thanks

I love a good board of cheese, meats, olives, carrier/cucumber sticks, tadziku/hummus and marinated tomatoes. Add some nice bread and I'm in heaven!

Some cold things:

These are some dips I've done, all super easy.

Spinach dip: microwave a couple of blocks of chopped spinach with 2/3 cloves of garlic. Mash well to drain the liquid. Mash the garlic cloves in as well. Add philly cheese. Add some tumeric, salt and all spice and a hand full of raisins.

Tuna dip: two cans of tuna in oil. Drain well. Add mayo and crème fraiche. Add salt and pepper and some smoked paprika and/or ground fennel seeds. Add chopped apple and spring onion.

I buy hummous, but it's easy enough to make yourself.
Serve with crudités and chips.

Skewers are always nice. Can't go wrong with tomato, mozarella and basil. Or watermelon, feta and mint. Drizzled with some olive oil and balsamic.

Olives, nuts, pickles.

Selection of cheeses and maybe some parma ham or one if those dry french sausages.

Then it's nice to have something warm as well.

Chicken drumsticks.
Meatballs with onion, feta and mint.
Pork sausages glazed with mustard and honey.

Or roll out two packs of puff pastry. Smear a mix of mustard and mayo on both pieces. Put cheese, ham, sliced onion on one half. Put other half on top. Seal with a bit of egg wash. Brush the top with egg wash and then bake in the oven.

Can you tell we entertain a lot Blush

Thanks so much. I seem to have lost my entertaining adults confidence. Been so busy with 4 children. Want this evening to be start of more regular gatherings with adults.
I know its simple food but still lovely ideas

I always make marmalade sausage rolls with sweet chilli dip.

Cut up a nice baguette into rounds, dip both sides in honey and add goats cheese on top, grill and serve on bed of rocket with a balsamic drizzle.

Quickly fry off minced pork with some garlic and chilli, add basil and serve in lettuce cups.
