And 4 toddlers..

Was going to make beer can chicken, potato salad, green salad, coleslaw and crusty bread and a fruit punch.

How many chickens will I need??

well, depends on the size of the chicken, but at a rough guess at least 3 - I would normally say a big chicken would do for 6 ( 1 leg per portion, and half a chicken breast per portion) I tend to do more rather than less - chicken is easy to use as leftovers :)

Definitely four - many people don't want to eat a whole leg as a portion. I tend to carve as drumstick, thigh, then slice the breast, so people get a mixture of light and dark meat.

Or if serving whole portions, drumstick, thigh, lower breast with wing attached, then split remainder of breast in two.

Thank you, it's for Sunday. We we going to go for 4 hoping they feed 4 each as 16 are coming now.
If there's any leftovers it would be fine so would rather have too many.
Very tempted to go to Costco and buy 4 hot rotisserie chickens on the day...
