I need ideas for dishes similar to shepherds pie with that kind of mashed potato topping. We have had lentil 'shepherds pie' and now need some other ideas please.

Look up red Dragon pie. Adjuki beans, rice and carrots make the base.

Quorn mince shepherds pie.
Mushroom casseroley type thing?
Mixed beans in a chilli sauce.

We do shepherds pie with Quorn mince.

Otherwise, maybe a chilli with mashed spiced sweet potato as the topping?

Somerset Stew - just leave the cheddar out of the mash.

I'm not sure quorn is dairy free...

Think - Yes, I think you're right. Sorry OP - forgot the dairy free bit!

If you like tinned tomatoes (I don't) you could do a kind of ratatouille topped with mash, maybe with some steamed leeks or kale mixed into the mash? You could add a tin of butter beans to the ratatouille too.

Cubed carrot and swede with some red lentils, veggy billion and herbs/spices. Cook slowly with a bit of water till chunky but soft.

Some Quorn products contain dairy products, all contain egg.

ratatouille with chickpeas is really nice. Lots of chopped herbs.

Tins of Heinz mixed beans with some fried onion, tomatoes, other veg mixed in.

You could do a mix of green vegetables such as brocolli, leeks, broad beans, peas, haricot vert, maybe some spinach. Stir into a white sauce made with vegetable stock and some herbs and a bit of garlic, then top with the mash and bake. Like fish pie without the fish.

Or vegetarian sausages chopped up into onion gravy, then topped with mash and baked, one pot sausage and mash.
