Definitely. Pork's a lot safer these days. Just make sure you heat it through properly (ooh - put a dollop of sour cream in the reheated one for lots of extra flavour if you like)

pollypeachum · 21/11/2006 14:12

yes. my mum told me you can't reheat pork but i've done it and so far am still here to tell the tale.

madmarchhare · 21/11/2006 14:13

you're alright to reheat any meat once

pork pies are very different though, for a start they are not meant ot be served warm, and if you didn't make the pork pie in the first place, I 'm presuming you didn't, then you did not have total control over its conditions sice baking, when most bacterialogical contamination can occur. If you could your own pork casserole, take out a single portion for dh, put in in a separate container, leave it to cool for no more than 90 minutes at room temperature and then store it in the fridge and reheat at a medium heat till bubbling and hot about 90 degrees C right through then you'll be OK.

Unless of course you want to bump him off, then put it in an old sock, store in the laundry basket or under the cat over night and flash it in the microwave for 20 seconds.

ok

this is what i will do

i have a large portion of park defrosted

i am shortly about to cook the casserole and dish it up tonight for tea

so i cook it all the way through, when dishing up, there will be some left over which i can cool down and then put in fridge til tomorrow and reheat for dh's tea

i dont have a microwave btw

S'OK - you can reheat it in the pan on the stove. If you do it on fairly low heat to start it will cook more thoroughly than if you wang it on a high heat to start
