Hi making very simple puff pastry apple tart for a dinner party tonight, basically thinly sliced apples on a ready roll puff pastry base and loads of sugar on top! Can I slice up the apples in advance without them going off/brown?

need to put them in acidulated water, i.e. with juice of a lemon and weigh them down so the bobbing ones don't get brown

Hi K, will that affect taste of apples? And do I use juice of whole lemon or half?

I think you should be ok. and I would use a whole lemon.
