Can I cook and freeze chicken that's already been frozen?

Hi everyone.
I get very anxious over food safety, always being over cautious and binning food that was probably perfectly fine.

Anyway I have defrosted a bag of frozen chicken breast, and have 6 left. I will eat two tomorrow but want to cook the other 4 and then freeze them (going to make kievs and nuggets). Will this be safe?

As long as you cook them before refreezing it's it's fine. Defrosting then refreezing without having cooking isn't .

I'm lying I have 9 left! Too much to waste. Will definitely cook them first, never frozen cooked food before usually goes in the bin.

Yes, by cooking them correctly all the possible bacteria will be killed and you can freeze them just as if they had been bought fresh today.

Oh that's great. Text my mum first and she said no way should I refreeze chicken in any circumstances. Thanks Smile
