Quick question about online supermarket shopping

If your local(ish) big supermarket doesn't sell a particular item, can you still order it online as part of a big grocery order? I know they usually pick items from a nearish store.

It depends on the supermarket. Some supermarkets have warehouses that only cater for online shopping.

It depends where the delivery comes from.
My small town has a really small Tesco, yet I can get lots of different/interesting ingredients as the delivery comes from a huge store.

Our Tesco delivers from a store 15 miles away, as the local one doesn't do deliveries.

When you log in, it tells you what's available.

Just check online. My Tesco orders are picked from the large one 8 miles away and I can order far more than I can buy from my local store 4 miles away.

I know Sainsburys pick from a local store. Dreadful system.

Ocado doesn't have stores so the problem doesn't arise.

Thanks very much, everyone. :)
