Does anyone know if the base of the seed dispenser is supposed to ping back into the closed position once it's done its dispensing bit? I've had mine for four years (plus it was secondhand to me even then) and finally used the seed dispenser for the first time yesterday 
It opened fine but then it stayed open for the rest of the programme. I think I was expecting it to have a spring mechanism. Do I need to be effecting some sort of repair? The bread was delicious in any case.
